Cycle To Vote is a grassroots organization created by the cycling community to bring awareness to the importance and ease of registering to vote in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our secondary goal is to encourage everyone to vote on November 3, 2020! The organization believes that every individual, regardless of political affiliation, should understand and exercise their right to vote.

Unfortunately, the number of Pennsylvania voters has declined in recent years with only 6 million of 12.8 million residents (47%) voting in the 2016 presidential election. Voting among Black communities has dropped precipitously with Black voters in Pennsylvania falling from nearly 67% in 2012 to less than 60% in 2016.

Given the rise of COVID-19 during 2020, and the resulting global pandemic, many voters may be prevented from showing up at polls in November, or may be forced to contend with a decreasing number of polling locations. Providing voters with accurate and timely polling information will be necessary to increase voter participation. This is especially true for larger urban communities, particularly in Black and Brown communities, where polling locations are already being reduced. Mail-in and absentee ballots will be more critical than preceding elections. Cycle to Vote aims to educate Pennsylvania’s legal residents on the requirements for all voting options available to them, and encourage them to register prior to the October 19, 2020, deadline.
